Top-ranked Normal University High hands M-S second loss

University of Illinois recruit Jake Swartz stymied Mahomet-Seymour on two hits during a four-inning scoreless stint on Monday (April 19) as Normal University High topped the Bulldogs 12-2 in a five-inning baseball game in Normal.

U-High is the state’s top-ranked Class 2A team.

Swartz struck out seven and walked two Bulldogs.

Andrew Norman had two of M-S’ three hits and also drove in a run. Chase Wagers had the other Bulldog hit.

Carter Johnson and Keegon Ashby scored the M-S runs.

M-S (0-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 22) against Tri-Valley.
