Mahomet-Seymour Soccer kicks offseason with win

Clayton Gibson and Isaac Warren notched goals on Tuesday (Aug. 24) as the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ soccer team edged Metamora 2-1 in its home-opener at Middletown Field.

The Bulldogs scored the only goal of the first half.

Kai Jones had an assist for M-S. Keagon Ashby registered five saves.

“The Bulldogs opened with a solid win against Metamora,” M-S coach Jeremy Davis said. “Proud of the boys with quite a few new pieces making it work.

“The boys adjusted well to the game and played a much improved second half after Metamora equalized.”

M-S (1-0) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 26) at home against Centennial.
