Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: MSJHS 7th grade volleyball

​On a 12-game win streak, the Mahomet-Seymour Junior High seventh-grade volleyball team will face Channahon in the IESA Class 4A state finals Friday.

The Bulldogs won their IESA Regional on March 2, defeating top-seeded Champaign Edison in two sets, 25-11, 25-22. They went on to come from behind over Taylorville, 22-25, 25-11, 25-18 to capture the Sectional title.

The seventh-grade roster consists of Emma Arbuckle, Penelope Bird, Marley Cloward, Emma DiFilippo, Katie Hunter, Maddie Klein, Pfeifer Manuel, Madisyn Morgan, Layla Palacio, Nyla Patterson, Makenna Peterka, Charlotte Sinclair, Joella Snodsmith, Kiera Sternhagen, Josie Stites and Ally Young.
