Madalyn Marx wins 400 at USATF Indoor National Championships

Mahomet-Seymour freshman Madalyn Marx won the 400-meter dash on Sunday (March 19) in the USATF Indoor National Championships for girls in the 15-16 age bracket at Louisville, Ky.

Her time was a personal-best one-minute-flat (1:00.00). She had the second-best qualifying time (1:00.94). The national runner-up was clocked in 1:00.47.

Marx also earned All-America honors in two other events, each of which she had the second-best qualifying time.

In the 200 meters, she ran third in the finals (personal-best 25.69 seconds) after qualifying with a time of 25.78.

In the 55 meters, Marx also captured third with a time of 7.57 seconds. Her qualifying time was 7.42 seconds.

The three-day meet started on Friday (March 17).
