Eli Warren scored two goals on Thursday, helping the Bulldogs remain unbeaten in Apollo Conference matches. M-S posted a 3-1 win at Charleston.

Both of Warren’s goals were assisted by Nate Lundstrom.

The other Bulldog tally was courtesy of Kadyn Jones, assisted by Jake Janda.

“The Bulldogs were typically trying to attack a box filled with nine to 10 defenders,” M-S coach Jeremy Davis said. “Charleston looked to take Jake Janda’s speed off the table after he scored four goals in the previous matchup.

“That opened up some opportunities for Warren and Jones. Both performed well.”

In the junior varsity match, M-S defeated Charleston 5-0.

On Saturday in Champaign, the Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaker to Central, 2-1. Warren converted a penalty kick. Lundstrom was credited with an assist.

The tally created a 1-1 tie. Central booted the go-ahead goal in the final 6 minutes.

M-S shutout Central 1-0 in the junior varsity match.

M-S is 12-4-1 overall and 7-0 in Apollo Conference action.

Warren has 17 goals, plus 17 assists and has broken the school record for points in a season. He has scored at least one goal in nine of the last 10 M-S matches.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday at home against Mattoon (10-2-2).
