Mahomet-Seymour netted 19 first-quarter points on Friday (Dec. 10) and relied on a strong defense to turn back Effingham, 46-35, in an Apollo Conference boys’ basketball game in Mahomet.
Quenton Rogers posted team-high totals of 11 points and seven rebounds. Blake Wolters scored eight points and claimed a team-high four steals.
Wyatt Bohm handed out a team-high six assists and Adam Dyer tallied five points.
The Bulldogs led 19-11 after one quarter and then permitted just three points in the second period.
M-S (4-4) returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 14) at home against Taylorville.
