Jenna Wade hits three home runs in win over Decatur

Senior Jenna Wade slugged a three-run home run as part of her season-high six-RBI game on Monday (May 1) as Mahomet-Seymour dominated McArthur, 18-2, in a non-conference softball game in Decatur.

Teammates with two hits were Kenadi Granadino, Madeleine Cortez, Sydney Ward and Kayla McKinney.

Brooklyn Dyer scored a season-high three runs and Madisyn White stole a season-high three bases. White tallied two runs as did Granadino, Cortez, Ward, Wade, McKinney and Rio Casillas.

Casillas drove in three runs for the second consecutive game. Granadino and Cortez both had two RBI.

M-S provided Ava Henderson a 4-0 lead before she threw a pitch. In three innings, Henderson allowed three hits and one walk. She struck out two hitters.

On Wednesday (May 3), the Bulldogs suffered a 17-2 loss at home to Tri-Valley. The visiting Vikings scored 12 runs in the top of the fourth inning.

McKinney led the M-S offense, going 2-for-2. Cortez slugged a home run and Wade ripped a double. Ward stole a base, scored a run and had one hit.

Henderson had the team’s other hit.

Henderson pitched all four innings, walking no one and striking out two batters. She permitted just two earned runs.

The Bulldogs (8-13) return to action on Saturday (May 6) in a doubleheader at Mattoon. M-S is 4-4 in Apollo Conference action.
