Mahomet-Seymour Senior Titus Payne led the Bulldogs to a win over Mattoon with a hat trick (three goals) on Oct. 5.
Payne has been a driving force in Mahomet-Seymour’s 13-6-1, including providing an assist in a draw with fifth-ranked Morton.
Other recent notable performances for the striker include a first-half goal against Mattoon, two first-half goals against Charleston, and the lone goal against state-ranked Champaign Central. Payne has 11 goals and 7 assists in the 2021 season.
The Bulldogs take the field at Lincoln Saturday before coming home for three games against Normal Community (Oct. 11), Effingham (Oct. 12) and Taylorville (Oct. 14).
