Wheeler scores five in Mahomet-Seymour shutout

Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer team, which has permitted just one goal in its last six matches, scored an 8-0 shutout win on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at Effingham.

Nolan Wheeler netted a season-high five goals and added one assist in the Bulldog win.

Brian Woodbury produced two goals and three assists. Kia Jones had one goal and one assist.

Isaac Warren contributed three assists.

The Bulldogs led 4-0 at halftime.

M-S (7-1-4) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 21) at Taylorville and returns home for a 5 p.m. match on Friday (Sept 22) against Glenbard North as part of the school’s homecoming weekend.

Effingham has a 10-3 season record.
