Mahomet, IL has received yet another accolade as ValuePenguin ranks the town of nearly 14,000 the best place to own a home.
ValuePenguin evaluated 15 data points from six sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau and the Illinois Department of Revenue. Various taxes to home prices and values as well as the cost of homeowners insurance and neighborhood safety were used in evaluating the 259 communities evaluated in Illinois.
Ranking #1 overall, Mahomet was 44th in the taxes and Insurance category, 77th in the price category, and 74th in the jobs and economy category.
Edwardsville, Morton, Oblong and Effingham were also named in the top 5.
