Slocum and Oyer place first at Lake of the Woods Season-Opener

Brad Slocum and Zach Oyer combined for a 174 over the weekend and placed first in the Lake of the Woods Season-Opener.

The two-day golf event concluded on Sunday (April 30).

All entries played 18 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday, each with a different format.

The event began on the front nine with better ball on Saturday (April 29) and switched to alternate shot on the back nine.

On Sunday, the front nine was a scramble before the back nine shifted to a total combined score.

Slocum and Oyer held a 1-shot lead after 18 holes.

There was a three-way tie for second place in the championship flight.

Sharing the runner-up position were Steve Prioletti and Brett Dreier; Grant Kinkelaar and Josh Henson along with Matt Wennmaker and Jordan Abdel-Haq. All three groups finished with 184s.

In the first flight, Bill Clodfelder II and Jason Heid teamed up for a 186 composite and a 4-stroke victory. They were tied for the lead at the halfway mark.

Sharing second place were C.G. Facer and Andy Facer as well as the team of Bryan Sumila and Kevin Towle. Both groups carded 190s.

In the second flight, Devin Rosen and Noah Hunt, who trailed by 3 shots after Saturday, regrouped and earned a 5-stroke win. They combined for a 203.

Clark Adams and Bob Hahn tied for second with the team of Ron Sebestik and John Blakey. Each group fired 208s.

In the third flight, honors went to Kevin Conner and Neil Sudduth, who were tied for first after the first day’s action. Their final score was 215.

Tying for second place were the groups of Rick Garinger and P.J. Garinger along with Rich Bloom and Mike Novak. Both duos teamed up for scores of 217.
