MSJHS baseball finding success at the plate

Mahomet-Seymour’s junior high baseball team has won two of its first three games. The team is averaging more than 10 hits per game.

M-S decisioned Urbana, 17-5. Raymond Long had three hits and drove in three runs.

Teammates with two hits apiece were Mason Orton, Braden Pagel, Cade Starrick, Nolan Johnson and Tyson Finch.

Johnson struck out seven in three innings and picked up the win. Kody Ackman and Matthew Orr each pitched one inning of scoreless relief.

M-S dropped an 11-2 decision to Charleston.

The M-S hits were by Pagel and Peyton Cox.

Against Champaign Jefferson, M-S earned a 13-5 triumph.

Noah Butler had three hits.

Teammates contributing two hits apiece were Finch, Starrick, Orr, Cox and Gavin Bailey.

Orton pitched two innings of scoreless relief and captured the win.
