MSHS WYSE team places second at State competition

The Mahomet-Seymour High School WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) team took second place at the Illinois State Competition Monday.

Dunlap High School placed first.

Junior Jessica Berkman was named the State Champion in Biology. She also placed third in Physics.

Nick Morrow placed second in Math, Ben Dahl captured third in Chemistry and fifth in English while Tony Cosimini also placed fifth in English. Mirnali Kesavadas placed fifth in Biology.

Individuals who place in the top two receive a scholarship to the University of Illinois School of Engineering if they attend.
