Junior Holland Martin and sophomore Adella Bird teamed up for a win at No. 2 doubles for the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ tennis team on Friday (Sept. 15) in an 8-1 dual-meet loss at Mattoon.
Martin and Bird, who are 5-0 for the season, were victorious 2-6, 7-6, 11-9.
Two Bulldogs suffered tough-luck losses in singles.
At No. 2, Bird dropped a 7-5, 6-7, 10-7 loss. At No. 6, Emmie Flores was edged 6-4, 2-6, 12-10.
M-S (4-1) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at home against Watseka.
