Mahomet-Seymour tennis opens season at Mount Zion

Mahomet-Seymour dropped a 9-0 decision in its season-opening girls’ tennis match on Thursday (Aug. 18) at Mount Zion.

The Bulldogs’ singles lineup consisted of Savanna Amatyleon (No. 1), Emily Young (No. 2), Ainsley Smith (No. 3), Holland Martin (No. 4), Lily Roberts (No. 5) and Claire Johnson (No. 6).

In doubles, the M-S duos were Amatyleon and Smith (No. 1), Roberts and Johnson (No. 2) along with Young and Lydia Risser (No. 3).

M-S (0-1) returns to action with a home match on Tuesday (Aug. 23) against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley. Home matches will be held in Urbana at the Illini Grove Tennis Courts.
