Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday (Aug 29) in their Apollo Conference opener at Mount Zion.

The match was a showdown between the top two teams in the conference in 2022. Mount Zion has a 2-0-1 season record.

M-S also ended in a tie in its only other match of the season.

“The defense which came in with mostly new faces from last year has performed well so far,” M-S coach Jeremy Davis said. “Following a year where the team had their best defensive season giving up 15 goals in 26 games, the Bulldogs have allowed only one goal in two games this season.”

M-S (0-0-2) returns to action on Friday (Sept. 1) in the Urbana Tournament in the 4 p.m. match against Mascoutah.
