Seniors honored in final tennis match

In their final regular-season meet, the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ tennis team sent 10 seniors to the court on Tuesday (Oct. 12) in a 9-0 loss to Champaign Central.

The Bulldogs finish the season with a 6-5 record in dual meets and return to action on Friday (Oct. 15) in the 11-team sectional at Danville.

The all-senior singles lineup against Central consisted of Morgan Lee (No. 1), Averly Sanborn (No. 2), Sophia Slupski (No.  3), Gianna Hill (No. 4), Lillie Hillard (No. 5) and Taylor Remus (No. 6).

The No. 1 doubles team featured seniors Molly Fried and Slupski. At No. 2 were seniors Jadyn Hannah and Megan Barnhart.

The duo at No. 3 included senior Lydia Johnson and sophomore Lily Roberts.
