Mahomet-Seymour Golf grabs third-consecutive win

Medalist Zach Courson and runner-up Jameson Drinkwalter each matched the season’s best scores on Thursday (Sept. 17), leading the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ golf team to its third consecutive victory.

The Bulldogs topped Rantoul 169-182 at Lake of the Woods.

Courson fired a 37 and Drinkwalter turned in a 42.

The team’s third-place finisher, Jackson White, registered his best score of the season (44).

Other M-S participants were C.J. Shoaf (46), Ryan Long (49) and Carter Selk (50).

In the junior varsity match, the Bulldogs had the only competitors to score in the 40s and beat the Eagles, 177-266.

Erik Christianson (42), Brian Coyne (44) and Blake Harvey (46) were the M-S leaders.

Other squad members in the JV top seven were: Jacob Louis (46), John Wagner (47), Riley Dowers (50) and Brogan Hennesy (52).

M-S (7-4) returns to action on Monday (Sept. 21) at Charleston.
