Mahomet-Seymour extends winning streak to three games

Different players posted double-doubles on consecutive nights as the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team extended its winning streak to three games.

On Tuesday (Feb. 8), the Bulldogs rallied at Urbana to salvage a 62-53 win. Luke Koller set the tone with 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

On Wednesday (Feb. 9), M-S overcame a fourth-quarter deficit and avenged a previous loss to Charleston with a 56-52 triumph. Blake Wolter recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds.

 Against Urbana, M-S fell behind 19-15 after one quarter and 31-25 at halftime, but outscored the Tigers 37-22 in the second half to grab the non-conference victory.

Wolters had 11 points, six rebounds and 4 assists. Quenton Rogers and Dayten Eisenmann also hit 11 points apiece. Rogers grabbed five rebounds and Eisenmann collected four assists.

Against Charleston, which had beaten the Bulldogs by a point in December, Wyatt Bohm drained a season-high 19 points. He also delivered six assists.

Koller ended with six points and four rebounds. Eisenmann hauled down six rebounds and Adam Dyer handed out three assists.

Charleston led, 14-12, after one period and carried a 43-37 lead into the final eight minutes. A 19-9 runny the Bulldogs led to the comeback win.

M-S (14-12) returns to action on Friday (Feb. 11) at Taylorville.
