Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: DeAngelo Hughey

Heading into the 2022 outdoor track season, Mahomet-Seymour Junior DeAngelo Hughey is drawing attention with his times coming out of the indoor season.

Hughey finished third in the 400-m and 200-m races at the Illinois Top Times tournament. He ran his personal best 400-m at 50.07 and 22.72 in the 200. He also placed 10th in the 60-m run, finishing at 7.15.

A week earlier, Hughey placed 2nd at the USATF Indoor Nationals in Kentucky with a 50.15 time in the 400-m race. He also finished fourth in the 17-18-year-old category of the 200-m race, running a 22:48.
