Mahomet Christian Church to host Living Flag presentation to honor Veterans

The Mahomet Christian Church, located at 908 N Lake of the Woods Rd., will host its 17th annual Living Flag Celebration this weekend.

Performances are scheduled for Nov. 4 at 7 pm, Nov. 5 at 2 & 7 pm, and Nov. 6 at 5 p.m.

The Living Flag spans 15 feet wide, has four tiers of scaffolding, stands 21-feet high, and holds 30 singers. The scaffold is decorated with 50 stars and 13 stripes made of vinyl. Church members participate in a service that draws hundreds each year to honor and remember America’s service men and women. The 2022 keynote speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Dan Johnson.

This event is free and open to the public.
