Medalist Ainsley Winters shot a 79 on Monday (Oct. 3) to post a two-shot victory in the Lincoln Class 1A IHSA girls’ golf sectional tournament.
With four Bulldogs placing among the top 36 in a field of 110, M-S secured a state berth by registering a 373 team total and placing second in the 12-team event.
Following Winters were Brooke Hartman (tied for 20th with a 94), Kayla McKinney and Elena Tompkins (each tied for 36th with 100s).
Other M-S scorers were a 105 by Chloe Merkle and a 112 by Maddy Clark.
The Bulldogs will participate in the two-day state meet, which begins on Friday (Oct. 7) at Red Tail Run Golf Course, in Decatur.
