Three golfers recorded a hole-in-one at Lake of the Woods golf courses during March.

Eleven-year-old Hunter Benson, from Mahomet, scored his first ace on Wednesday, March 31.

Benson used a 7-iron on the 105-yard Par 3 second hole. He hit a Titleist velocity golf ball.

His feat was witnessed by his 13-year-old brother, Forrest, as well as the Lake of the Woods golf professional, David Sebestik.

On Monday, March 8, Scott LeMay, from Champaign, aced the fourth hole. His shot was witnessed by John Muirhead and George Bell.

The season’s first hole-in-one was shot by a person who has now accomplished the feat six times.

Mahomet’s Dave Huber, who was the head golf professional at Lake of the Woods for more than three decades, collected his first hole-in-one on the 18-hole Lake of the Woods course.

He used an 8-iron for his only shot on the 140-yard fourth hole. Watching him were Rick Little and Ron Stinebring.

Huber has two holes-in-one at the Par 3 course at Lake of the Woods and three other aces at different courses. His shot occurred on Saturday, March 6.
