Crowley Pumpkin Patch opens Sept. 7

It’s pumpkin season!

And Crowley Pumpkins, located at 435 CR 2500 N in Mahomet has a little something for everyone.

The 2019 crop produced an abundance of pumpkins and gourds. After seeing the popularity of variety, the Crowleys are also bringing back an assortment of mums and fall flowers for purchase.

As the family farm continues to grow, the Crowleys have also made a new family photo area.

“It’s fall y’all come on out and visit us for great quality and prices in a variety of pumpkins and mums to decorate your house and yard,” Julie Crowley writes.

The Crowleys, who farmed their land, decided to turn to a pumpkin crop a few years ago after the field, which is located near the Sangamon flooded for three consecutive years. The Crowleys, who love Halloween decided pumpkins would be a sustainable crop because of the later planting season.

They also love Halloween and thought pumpkins would be a good way to share the fall season with their family and friends.

With hundreds of pumpkins leftover, the Crowley decided to carve 200 to 300 and place candles in them to make their property “glow” near Halloween. This year’s Jack-o-Lantern Glow dates are to be set.

The Crowley Pumpkin Patch is open on  Mon. to Wed. 6-8 p.m., closed Thursday, open Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., Sat. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
