Closure of South Mahomet Road to continue indefinitely

The closure of South Mahomet Road and 425E is being extended indefinitely.

In order to construct a railroad crossing that will connect South Mahomet Road through the Mahomet-Seymour School District’s property, connecting the south side of Mahomet to the east, South Mahomet Road will be closed from Littlefield Lane around the 425E bend. from 425E to 1900N (Pin Tail Road) will be closed to through traffic. A new connection to 425E will be constructed.

When there is work between Sunny Acres Rd and Littlefield Lane that work will be done under traffic, with one-lane, two-traffic that will be directed by flaggers. 

Access to Mahomet United Methodist Church and Littlefield Lane will always be maintained, according to the Village of Mahomet press release.
