Mahomet-Seymour’s Kayla Koerner became the school’s all-time single-season leader in goals, netting her 44th and 45th goal in the Bulldogs 12-0 win in the Sectional Quarterfinal against Danville Friday.
Meredith Johnson-Monfort held the record since 2018 when she scored 43 goals in one season.
Koerner, a Southeast Missouri recruit, has scored a total of 73 goals during her time at Mahomet-Seymour. The Bulldogs continue to play in the Class 2A IHSA Sectional tournament against Rochester on June 8 at 5 p.m. at Middletown field.
