Zach Courson leads Bulldogs in first two golf meets

Zach Courson posted the best Mahomet-Seymour score in back-to-back boys’ golf meets this week.
On Monday in the team’s opening meet at Monticello, Courson was the meet’s runner-up with a 37. He finished one shot behind the medalist.
Monticello topped the Bulldogs in the dual meet, 163-174.
M-S’ Jameson Drinkwater fired a 45 and tied for seventh in the 14-player field.
Other Bulldog participants were Carter Selk (46), C.J. Shoaf (46), Ryan Long (53) and Erik Christianson (54).
On Tuesday at Clinton Country Club, Courson’s 43 topped M-S in a four-team meet.
Teammates Drinkwater, Selk and Brian Coyne all finished with 48s. Jaedon Lager (49) and Christianson (55) were the other M-S competitors.
Monticello (165) was the meet winner, followed by Maroa-Forsyth (173) and M-S (187). Clinton finished in fourth.
In the junior varsity portion of the Clinton meet, the top M-S scores were carded by Blake Harvey (43), Braden Houchin (51), Sean Summers (53) and Brogan Hennesy (56).
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday (Aug. 20) at 1 p.m. in the Lincoln Scramble.
