Upcoming in Mahomet 2022: #3 Mahomet-Seymour will hire new Superintendent

The Mahomet-Seymour School Board has entered into an agreement with Educational Leadership Solutions to conduct a search for a new Superintendent of the Mahomet-Seymour School District after Lindsey Hall announced her resignation/retirement late in 2021.

Led by Dr. Richard Voltz and Dr. Nick Polyak, Educational Leadership Solutions collected feedback from the Board of Education on Jan. 10, regarding the strength and opportunities within the school district, and what they wanted in a Superintendent.

The group has also launched a survey for the community to provide information on qualities the board should look at before they begin to interview applicants. Voltz said that other districts have received fewer applications than in previous years, but expects to present the board with six candidates by the end of February.

Final interviews with three candidates are expected to take place early in March with a contract by March 25.

The base fee for the search is $13,500. Expenses for conducting the search is not to exceed $1,500 with additional expenses for the search advertisement and recruitment are expected to be between $1,200 and $2,000. The board also gave a nod to a salary analysis (approximately $1,000) and a background check through Bushue (approximately $1,000) Monday night.
