Tolono Unity tops Mahomet-Seymour softball in season opener

Madelyn Logsdon and Jenna Wade each drilled two hits on Monday (March 20) for the Mahomet-Seymour softball team, which dropped a 7-3 decision at Tolono Unity in its season-opener.

Madeleine Cortez hit a two-run double in the third inning for the Bulldogs. Wade drove in the team’s other run. Her single knocked in Rio Casillas, who had the Bulldogs’ lone stolen base.

Ava Henderson pitched a complete game for M-S. She walked five and struck out four.

M-S (0-1) returns to action on Saturday (March 25) in a doubleheader at Galesburg.
