Cayla Koerner and Brea Benson each tallied one goal, but Normal Community snapped a 2-2 tie with a goal in the final 10 minutes and edged the visiting Bulldogs, 3-2, on Tuesday (May 10) in a girls’ soccer match in Normal.
Janel Straub had an assist for M-S.
“M-S had a great tune-up for the postseason that saw the top 3A team in the area against the top 2A team in the area,” Bulldog coach Jeremy Davis said. “The match saw both play pretty back.
“M-S had pretty good possession after halftime, when they equalized at 2-2.”
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday (May 12) at Morton.
In the junior varsity match, M-S and Normal battled to a scoreless draw.
