MSJHS to participate in the IESA State meet

The Mahomet-Seymour Junior High cross country teams will participate in the IESA State meet at Normal Parkside on Saturday.

After finishing second out of 13 teams, the MSJHS boys’ team was led by eighth-grade student-athlete Gabe Difanis, who finished fourth overall at 11:11.

Gage Williams, Mitchell McAnally, Tyler Clark, Finn Randolph, Kai Jones and Hayden Grotelueschen also placed in the top 60 runners.

Eighth-grade student-athlete Ella Scott led the girls’ team to their third-place finish. Scott helped pave the way for Ava Boyd to finish eighth overall.

“Their demonstration of teamwork is what makes this sport a ‘team sport,” head coach Lisa Martin said.

Durbin Thomas , Abby Bunting, Avah Turner, Callie Jansen and Reese Gallier also finished in the top 60 runners.

Saturday’s race will include the Bulldogs at 12:30 (girls) and 1:15 (boys).
