MSHS Girls’ Basketball drops home Apollo Conference opener

Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ basketball team lost its home opener, which was also its Apollo Conference opener, on Monday against Mount Zion.

The visiting Braves built a 19-13 lead after one quarter en route to a 58-41 triumph.

The Bulldogs are 3-2 overall. Mount Zion is 4-3.

Maddy Wade led M-S with nine points. Abby Kyle scored eight points and Kailyn Northrup finished with seven points.

Kyle and Makayla Rosenbery each hit a three-point shot.

Kyle and Keida Nichols were the team’s top rebounders with six apiece. Wade handed out four assists.

Kyle and Rosenbery each captured three steals.

The Bulldogs return to action tonight at home against Charleston.
