Savannah Orgeron scored a game-high 22 points, but the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball team dropped its Apollo Conference opener on Friday (Dec. 2), a 44-39 loss at Mount Zion.
The Bulldogs led, 12-10, after one quarter and 19-18 at halftime.
Chloe Pruitt contributed eight points for M-S.
The top Bulldog rebounders – with six apiece – were Pruitt, Durbin Thomas and Kylie Waldinger. Abby Bunting latched onto a team-high four steals. Thomas had two steals.
M-S (5-2) returns to action on Monday (Dec. 5) at home against Taylorville.
