MAYC’s Boot Scootin’ Auction scheduled for June 1

The Mahomet Area Youth Club is gearing up for it’s largest annual fundraiser, the Boot Scootin’ Auction and Barn Dance, which will take place on Shroeder’s Farm beginning at 5:30 p.m. on June 1.

MAYC Director Chad Hoffman said that the funds raised during the event make up nearly 50-percent of MAYC’s funding each year.

Sponsors, which pick up the tab for the event, help to free up funds raised through the ticket sales, live and silent auction and the heads and tails game. A new addition this year will be a dessert auction from which all of the funds will go to programming for Mahomet’s youth.

The photo booth, sponsored by Andrew White, will also be available at this year’s event.

Auction items are currently available via MAYC’s website to preview. Items will go live the night of the event.

Items, such as a School’s Out Yo-Yo’s Party with Mr. Cabutti, Condo in a Can Trip, Backyard Movie Night, Gourmet Dinner Your Way, Wine from Around the World, Czech Republic Adventure and a Wine Tour or Family Trip to Spain, are prizes that will not be sold at another venue.

Other bid items include a hot air balloon ride, an Army/Navy Football Trip, Date Night at Krannert, Illini Pub Pedal Ride, 5 Disney World 1-Day Passes, U of I Luxury Football Experience and an Urbana Country Club Golf Outing, among others.

Hoffman said that MAYC has also rented Breezers to help circulate cold air through the venue this year.

Tickets for the auction are still on sale and can be purchased through BidPal. A single ticket costs $50, a table of 8 is $360 and a table of 10 is $450.
