In a showdown between two of the premier girls’ soccer teams in the Apollo Conference, visiting Mattoon dealt Mahomet-Seymour its first loss of the season on Thursday (April 3), 2-1.
The match was scoreless until M-S hit a goal in the second half to take the lead. Mattoon (9-3) netted the game-winner in the final 5 minutes.
M-S (5-1-2) returns to action on Monday (April 17) at Rochester.
