Main Street Cookies & Cream brings something sweet to Fisher

Something sweet has made its way to Fisher.

And it’s not just a cookie.

Jessica Cox, a Fisher native who worked as a nurse for the last 14 years, has opened Main Street Cookies & Cream after finding her passion.

“I have always been an avid baker, but a couple of years ago I took a cookie decorating class and fell in love,” Cox said. “I made a couple sets for holidays and birthdays and then I had family and friends asking me to make some for them.

“It has really grown and I love doing it, but it has taken over our kitchen at home. When the opportunity came to have a storefront in my hometown of Fisher, my husband and I decided this would be a good chance to bring some fun things to the community.”

Her husband, Devin, and dad helped turn Suite C at 101 S. 3rd Street into a quaint and inviting space while her mom helped with the cleaning and baking.

“One of the best parts for me is that I will always be in town where my children are and have the ability to be there if they need me,” she said.

Since opening their doors on July 24, the response has been more than they could have hoped for.

The bakery that offers handmade sugar cookies, hand-dipped Super Premium Ice Cream from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream in Madison, WI, drinks from Columbia Street Roastery in Champaign and baked goods from CI Bakehouse has had days where they sell out quickly.

“All of these companies have been amazing to work with. I am excited to bring their quality products to my beloved community,” Cox said.

Her hope is to do more in the near future, too.

Cox said Main Street Cookies & Cream will be involved in the Lucky Foot Festival on Aug. 14.

“We have also begun to talk with a few people regarding different events and programs for kids. Very excited for all of the possibilities,” she said.
