Mahomet-Seymour volleyball season comes to an end

The winningest volleyball team in Mahomet-Seymour history fell one victory short of a Class 3A IHSA regional championship on Thursday (Oct. 28).

Playing at home, the Bulldogs had their 19-match winning streak halted by Normal University High in the finals, 25-18, 25-23.

Avery Allen had eight kills and eight digs for the Bulldogs. Maddie Gaede wound up with eight assists. Haylie Orton totaled two kills, two blocks, two service aces and one assist.

M-S ends the season with a 31-6 overall season record. Three other Bulldog teams had won 30 matches in a season.

Normal U-High has a 26-8 season record, including a 2-0 mark against M-S.
