Mahomet-Seymour splits two over weekend

The Bulldogs split two home games last weekend, dropping a 77-68 Apollo Conference decision to Mount Zion on Friday (Jan. 28) before topping Normal West on Saturday (Jan. 29), 64-58.

M-S led, 21-9, after one quarter and 30-25 at halftime.

Blake Wolters posted a monster double-double against Normal West, with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Wolters also had four assists.

Quenton Rogers contributed 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Luke Koller put up 11 points while Byron Lynch added 10 points.

Wyatt Bohm contributed five rebounds and five assists.

Against Mount Zion, Dayten Eisenmann hit 5-of-10 three-point shots on the way to a team-high 17 points. He also had three assists.

Rogers finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Wolters totaled 12 points and five rebounds. Ben Wagner netted 11 points.

Bohm stuffed the stat line with eight points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists.

M-S (11-11) returns to action on Tuesday (Feb. 1) at home against the state’s fifth-ranked Class 4A team, Normal Community.
