Mahomet-Seymour Soccer wins Apollo Conference opener

Three goals from Anthony Ramirez helped the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ soccer squad to a win in its Apollo Conference opener on Tuesday (Aug. 31) at Middletown Field.

The Bulldogs shut out Mount Zion, 4-0. M-S also blanked the Braves 1-0 three days earlier in tournament action at Mahomet.

Isaac Warren also notched a goal in the rematch.

Clayton Gibson recorded two assists while Sam Henrichs and Carson Reed added one assists apiece.

Keagon Ashby, who produced his second consecutive shutout, registered three saves.

M-S (3-1) returns to action on Friday (Sept. 3) and Saturday (Sept. 4) in the Urbana Invitational.
