Mahomet-Seymour releases re-opening plan for 2020-21

Mahomet-Seymour released additional information, including their 2020-21 reopening plan Monday.

Within the email Superintendent Lindsey Hall said, “Please know that there are parts of this plan that will be periodically updated to reflect changes and guidance that we receive from outside agencies such as the Champaign Urbana Public Health District.  Please check back frequently to read through the plan for changes, and we will also communicate when changes are made in the plan as posted on our website.”

Times for instruction based on school

Middletown Prairie Elementary:
A.M. 8:15-10:45
P.M. 12:00-2:30

Lincoln Trail: 
A.M. 8:30-11:00
P.M. 12:15-2:45

Mahomet-Seymour Jr. High School
9:30-3:00

Mahomet-Seymour High School
9:35-3:16

Information about how students were scheduled

  • As a starting point, students were divided alphabetically for A/B days  and AM/PM sessions.  With some exceptions, students with last names starting with letters A-L will attend A days (T/TH) and students with last names starting with letters M-Z will attend B days (W/F) at the junior high and high school. With some exceptions, students with last names starting with letters A-L will attend in the morning at Lincoln Trail, and students with last names starting with A-M will attend AM at Middletown Prairie. Remaining elementary students (M-Z at LT and N-Z at MPE) will attend in the afternoon.
  • To balance classes and sections, there are some students that were not assigned by last name. Those families that were not assigned by last name will be notified by building staff no later than Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2020 of their placement.
  • Homeroom teachers for elementary students will be available in Skyward Friday, August 7, 2020 by 4:00 pm. Schedules for junior high and high school students will be available in Skyward Friday, August 14, 2020.
