Mahomet-Seymour Hall of Fame Class of 2020 to be inducted April 9

The Mahomet-Seymour Education Foundation announced this week delays for inducting its fourth Hall of Fame Class.

The four selections – Jason Seaman, Leo Vitali, Janet Watkins and Fred Kroner – were originally scheduled to be enshrined on Sept. 18 prior to the Homecoming football game against Effingham.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IHSA has shifted football from a fall sport to one which will now start with practices in February.

M-S is scheduled to play a seven-game football season in early 2021.

The Hall of Fame game is set to take place at the Bulldogs’ final home contest, on Friday, April 9, against Charleston.

The inductees will still be recognized as members of the Class of 2020. If that ceremony takes place, another Hall of Fame class will be chosen and feted at the Fall 2021 homecoming game.

However, if the football season doesn’t happen in the spring, the current Hall of Fame class will be recognized in the fall of 2021 at the homecoming football game and there will be no other inductees until 2022.
