Mahomet-Seymour defeats Unity

Mahomet-Seymour jumped into a 25-9 halftime advantage on Monday (Dec. 12) and cruised past Tolono Unity, 42-21, in a girls’ non-conference basketball game in the Bulldogs’ gymnasium.

Savannah Orgeron led M-S with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Alayna DeWitt hit two three-point shots and generated 10 points. Abby Bunting hit six points while Grace Binkley and Kylie Waldinger each contributed four points. Emma Dallas netted one three-point shot.

DeWitt and Orgeron both had three steals.

Bunting, Waldinger and Durbin Thomas each grabbed two rebounds.

M-S (8-3) returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 15) at Eureka.

The Bulldogs’ junior varsity squad prevailed over Unity, 45-25.
