M-S led, 20-8, after one quarter.

On Saturday (Feb. 6), M-S posted a 34-27 win at Monticello.

Dyer led the offensive attack with 16 points. Gavin Hammerschmidt scored eight points.

“We improved on some things especially defensively after our first game,” coach Doug Ingold said.

The Bulldogs’ opener came on the road Thursday (Feb. 4) against a Mount Zion team that was playing its third game.

Mount Zion registered a 50-28 win.

“We started slow in the first half, but came out in the second half and played better,” Ingold said. “Mount Zion has a really good team, and we seemed nervous.”
