Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: Ava Boyd

Mahomet-Seymour Junior Ava Boyd has earned a spot in the IHSA Class 2A cross country meet at Detweiller Park Saturday.Boyd finished 21st in the 135-runner field at the Chatham Glenwood Sectional with a time of 18 minutes, 49.80 seconds.

Throughout the season, Boyd has led the Bulldogs on the course. She earned second place at the Apollo Conference meet on Oct. 11, finishing second at the Charleston Invitational on Sept. 3 and third at the Class 2A IHSA Regional on Oct. 22. 

She also finished sixth at the Light It Up Invitational and ninth at the East Peoria Invitational.
