M-S Baseball ends regular season with 3-game win streak

Nate McFall and Andrew Norman each poked three hits as the Mahomet-Seymour baseball team concluded the regular season on Tuesday (June 1) with a three-game winning streak following an 11-1 five-inning win at home over Urbana.

Zac Carr, Chase Wagers and Blake Wolters contributed two hits apiece for the Bulldogs, who combined for 15 hits and scored at least 10 runs for the third consecutive game and the 12th time for the season.

Carr drove in three runs and Wagers had two RBI.

McFall tallied three runs. Crossing home plate twice each were Norman, Wagers and Wolters.

Left-hander Nicholas Schiaretti earned his second consecutive victory. He worked three innings, yielding two hits, one walk and striking out three.

Brayden Smith finished with two hitless and scoreless innings, walking one and striking out four.

M-S (13-10) returns to action on Friday at home against seventh-seeded Decatur Eisenhower in a Class 3A regional semifinal game. The Bulldogs earned the No. 2 seed.
