Lutheran Church of Mahomet Live Nativity December 2

The Mahomet Lutheran Church will present their annual Live Nativity on December 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the drive in front of the church.

The nativity will include Mary, Joseph, Jesus, Shepards, Kings and angels. Live stock are also part of the event.

“The camel is probably the most important character (at the nativity) besides baby Jesus,” Evangelism Chairperson Pete Farm said. “Everyone gets a kick out of seeing a camel in Central Illinois.”

“We consider the live nativity our Christmas card to the Mahomet and Champaign community,” Farm said. “It reminds people the reason for the season, and it gives everyone a chance to be involved in the Christmas story.”

The Lutheran Church invites community members to join in the festivities by putting on a costume and taking on a Christmas story character. The 2019 event will also feature a supper and holiday dishes in the Fellowship Hall, live music and caroling.
