Letter to the Editor: Onken writes in support of Keefe

I have been paying close attention to the Mahomet-Seymour school board race and am delighted that we have so many great candidates from which to choose this year. I have two children in the district and I care very deeply about the long-term success of our schools. That’s why I strongly support Ken Keefe for Mahomet-Seymour school board.

Ken will build upon our district’s already strong outcomes. Ken has deep experience working with parents, teachers and students through his volunteer work with the PTO. He understands the importance of listening carefully to community concerns.

Ken’s passion for ensuring children thrive is evidenced by his decision to be a foster parent, together with his wife. Not only has he fostered nine children over the years, he took his concern for children a step further by serving on the Illinois Statewide Foster Care Advisory Council.

Ken will use his experience serving at the local and state levels to make fair, thoughtful decisions on our behalf. On Tuesday, April 2, please cast your vote for Ken Keefe.
