Mahomet-Seymour’s unbeaten seventh-grade girls’ basketball held off Charleston on Tuesday (Sept. 28) for its fifth consecutive victory.
Courtney Fonte hit a team-high seven points and nailed two late free throws to clinch the 21-17 win. Hannah Martin added six points.
On Thursday (Sept. 23), the M-S Junior High seventh-graders held their opponent scoreless, marking the second time for the feat in four games.
M-S shut out visiting Bloomington, 36-0.
Fonte tallied a season-high 12 points. Breckyn Hess and Martin each scored six points.
M-S (5-0) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 30) at Paxton-Buckley-Loda. The Bulldogs’ first four wins had been by an average margin of 29.7 points.
