East Central Illinois under Elevated Fire Danger Today

The National Weather Service in Lincoln, IL has issued a warning for increased fire danger this afternoon due to dry grass and other fuels, breezy southwest winds 15 to 20 mph, and low relative humidity around 30 percent. Fires can spread rapidly in these conditions. Use extra caution with open flames and properly discard cigarettes. Outdoor burning is discouraged except by experienced fire personnel.
