Happy Lunar New Year and welcome to the Year of the Ox!!!
Last year was extremely difficult dealing with the pandemic along with many other sad and devastating events. Now Asian-Americans are getting attacked. How sad and shameful, especially around the special celebration of Lunar New Year. I can’t fathom what’s wrong with the people. No good comes from hating and hurting others. I feel so bad for the Asian-American community.
I hope and wish we choose love over hate. We should look at people as humans first and foremost.
I want Asian-Americans to know that I am very sorry and ashamed of people’s bad behaviour. You aren’t alone. I do believe we have more good people in this world than the bad who try to spread fear.
I hope and wish that when we see wrong happening in front of our eyes, no matter if it is happening to someone that looks like you or not. We don’t walk away but we will all stand up against racism and against injustice.
P.S To honor Lunar New Year, for the first time my girls and I made dumplings. Try!
